We use third-party web beacons from Yahoo! to help analyze where visitors go and what they do while visiting our website. Yahoo! may also use anonymous information about your visits to this and other websites in order to improve its products and services and provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Surveys
When you respond to a survey, we may ask for your name, email address, and other specific information so we can administer and tally the survey results.

Contests
When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we may ask for your name, address, and email address so we can administer the contest and notify winners.

Site Traffic
We monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us improve the design and layout of the CarbSmart Web site. This includes your IP address, time and date of your visit, and which pages you visit. CarbSmart can not tell exactly who you are, only, for example, that you were a visitor from xyz.com, you visited the site on July 22, 2000 and you visited page1.html, page3.html, and page6.html while you were here.

We may also use the information you submit to us to occasionally notify you about important changes to the Web site, new CarbSmart services, and special offers we think you'll find valuable. How does CarbSmart protect customer information?
When you place an order, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access.

What about "cookies"?
CarbSmart uses the Yahoo! Store shopping cart system. Yahoo! Stores uses "cookies" to store all of the items you place in your shopping cart. These "cookies" allow our store to keep a record of the items that you place in the shopping cart while you are shopping at CarbSmart.com. The cookie allows you to shop now by placing multiple items in the cart and if you decide to leave our web site you can return within two weeks and your items will still be in your cart. You can then complete the checkout process without having to add the items back into the cart again.

A problem arises when privacy-minded users set their web browser or security programs to not allow cookies or to prompt before accepting a cookie. Also, if you have your Internet Security settings set to block cookies by default, you will not be able to put multiple items in your shopping cart. While blocking unnecessary tracking cookies is a good practice, blocking cookies from a Yahoo! store prevents you from adding more than one item to the shopping cart or being able to leave and return to an existing shopping cart with the items stored.

CarbSmart suggests that in order to use our online ordering system, you should set your web browser software to accept cookies and if you use a firewall or other security software, that you disable it now.

"Opting In" and "Opting Out" of Mailings
CarbSmart believes in only sending email notifications to those visitors who choose to receive periodic notices about new products, special sales, and interesting news. For that reason, we allow you to choose whether you want to be on our email list. Throughout the site and on our order form, we provide an area where you can add your email address to the mailing list (opting in) or remove it if you decide not to receive them anymore (opting out). Will CarbSmart disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
CarbSmart does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. If we ever do decide to in the future, we will give you the option of "opting out" before we do so. CarbSmart may however, provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personal information.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect on the site to make shopping at CarbSmart possible and to enhance your overall shopping experience.
