Simple Italian Tossed Salad Low-Carb Keto Recipe

Nothing is easier than throwing together a Simple Italian Tossed Salad to compliment a meal.

If you’re in a rush, make your life a little easier and use the pre-washed bagged Italian salad.

You can add anything you want to it and it makes a lovely presentation.

Save the “goodies” like cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, etc., for a meal that does not already include 2 cooked vegetables.

Ingredients

Salad

  • 1 bag prewashed Italian salad greens
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese shredded (optional)

Italian Dressing

  • 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (or more to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Swerve granular sweetener
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the dressing ingredients in a small mixing bowl and stir until well combined.
  2. Taste and add additional apple cider vinegar if needed.
  3. In a large salad bowl, combine salad greens and mozzarella and toss well.
  4. Add dressing to greens and toss salad again or put the dressing on the table for everyone to add to their individual salads.
  5. Serve.

Notes

To make this salad Paleo or Dairy-Free simply leave off the cheese.

To make the dressing Paleo, replace the Swerve with one teaspoon of honey.

Store the leftover dressing in the refrigerator until ready to use and stir well before serving.

If you don’t have time to make the dressing, feel free to use your favorite bottled dressing but know that it will change the nutritionals listed below.
