CarbSmart.com Your trusted guide to the keto, low carb, intermittent fasting lifestyle
i’m looking for something sweet to eat with coffee that does not have sugar alcohol. Any suggestions?
Sally, we will be listing all the products we know that do not contain sugar alcohols shortly. The conversion of the new CarbSmart.com is taking longer than we thought but we will be working in it all summer.
Hi Andrew. I too am looking for something to have with coffee in the evening that does not contain sugar alcohols as I recently seem to have trouble handling them shortly after eating my treat.
Just ordered carb quik last week 2 3lbs boxes have loved every thing I’ve tried with it!
I just started this low carb in August and am doing ok at it. I tried the carb quik and love it. I use my bisquick cookbook with it and it works fairly well.
i like to bake. what is the best flour to buy. what is gluten free?
I know almond flour is low carb but don’t know about gluten free. Since it is made of nuts, I would imagine it is gluten free.
Yes, almond flour is definitely Gluten-Free and great for Low-Carb baking.
Sincerely,
Andrew
(Andrew will Answer) I just started a low Carb lifestyle and im doing well so far. I’m looking for some good tasty snacks to get me through the day. Something I can make a lot of and use all week would be great also. Any good suggestions. Sweet and savory.
Thanks so much
In the wake of the Julian Bakery carb-labeling controversy [ documented at http://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb-bread-another-fairy-tale-bites-the-dust and elsewhere], can anyone recommend a good low-carb bread — other than Ezekiel, which I admire in principle but just can’t seem to choke down?
Thanks in advance for any/all suggestions!
We will be doing a review of low carb breads soon. In the mean time, our trusted partner, Viva Low Carb, sells a selection of low carb breads. Personally if I eat low carb breads, I have the Alvarado St. bread.
Andrew
Nature’s Own 9 grain bread. 2 slices- It has calories – 80, carbo 18, fiber 6, = 12 carbo per 2 slices
EQUALS 6 PER SLICE. I don’t recommend it on the 1st phase of Dr ATkins, but it is fine thereafter.
Have you tried Revolution Rolls or Miracle Rolls?
Kiss my Keto breads are the best!
I love keto culture you can get it at Walmart and also extraordinary bites breads they also have hotdog hamburger buns also try it you’ll love it
LC multi grain sandwich bread. I send for it since I don’t live in N Carolina. I toast it and it is great.
Any suggestions on low carb for vegetarians?
Hi there, ive been low carbing for almost three years i love it. I have been stalled in my weight loss for about 8 months now, i only have about 5kg left to lose. My question is: after doing a fat fast for a couple days do i go straight back to my calorie intake of 1350 per day with 20g carbs or do i have to ease back into it? Hope to hear from you.
Best regards
YC
I’ve been on ketogenic diet for 3 years, have gained weight not lost. I have realized that I Do Have to count calories to loose weight.
Hi Toni,
That’s a difficult diet to be on anyway, congratulations for being able to keep it up! Although you didn’t say how old you are, remember that metabolism is not our friend as we age so “some” weight gain is just going to happen. It doesn’t mean you have to live with it though! I hope you find some enjoyable way to lose the extra weight. There are some fun looking DVDs and even YouTube videos that feature dance as the new work out routine. I wish you the best! Hang in there! 🙂
Hi Toni, you are correct. Calories are what determine weight loss, maintaining, or gaining. As far as I’m concerned, lchf is good for me because I’m diabetic and this way of eating helps control my blood sugar. If I want to lose weight on lchf, I must also count calories and stick to the # of calories that enable me to lose weight. There is no miracle diet, but calorie counting does work. Good luck.
I agree you can’t eat everything even if only protein
How do we get use of the recipes? I am trying to find a bread recipe for a low carb diet. You have offered recipe books, but don’t explain how to obtain them. Please help. I REALLY need them ASAP! Thanks
I have a question for Deb Carpenter: Are you still taking gelatin?–by the way, there’s an ad on top of the comment box, covering the name and email fields.
I found a fabulous low carb bread on EBay! “Sami’s“…….I love the whole grain that is 2 carbs per slice and the cinnamon raisin bread that is 3 carbs per slice.
It freezes beautifully in a gallon freezer bag, doesn’t crumble in your hand or has an aftertaste.
I do not recommend Julian Bakery bread!! It crumbles in your hand/toaster & it’s so moist that even grilled stove top won’t toast!! Terrible bread!!
God bless & good luck in our low carb world!
Mary
Wow – seems a bit pricey for bread. $31.99 for 3 loaves??? Is it really that good?
Please people I need help on a zero carb diet and craving sweets like hard candy what can I eat with zero carbs plz help
Most of the products listed on our Low-Carb Candies page should be very low net carbs per serving and many will be zero net carbs.
Sincerely,
Andrew

I’ve had Dana’s cookbook for years and recommended it to friends. Nice to see this venture.
I used to absolutely love this web site, their products and already have and use most of the cookbooks.
So glad that it popped up in my email this morning.
