Preparation Method

  • 2 cups green beans — whole fresh or frozen cut
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons almonds — slivered
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice — (1 to 2)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the green beans. Cover and cook over medium heat 6 to 6 minutes or until the beans are crisp-tender. Drain, and transfer the beans to a serving dish. Cover and keep warm.

Melt the butter in the same saucepan; stir in the almonds. Cook over low heat for 2 minutes, or until the almonds are very light brown. Stir in the lemon juice and salt. Spoon over the green beans.
