Occasionally, I miss bread–bread sticks to be more specific. Crunchy Sesame Garlic Sticks recipe satisfies that craving every time. They are pretty simple to prepare and are best served hot out of the oven. The best part is that any non-low carbers in the family will never miss the real thing!

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3 ounces freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 heaping tablespoons plain (unflavored) protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • Nonstick olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F and lightly spray a cookie sheet with olive oil spray.
  2. Combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, and the egg in a small bowl.
  3. Blend in the plain (unflavored) protein powder and the garlic salt with a fork or your hands.
  4. Gather the dough into a ball and knead it lightly until it is the consistency of Play Dough.
  5. Put the toasted sesame seeds on a clean dinner plate.
  6. Roll the dough into 8 thin logs by hand, and then roll each log in the sesame seeds until it is evenly coated. Place the logs on the cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until they are lightly browned.
  8. Remove the Crunchy Garlic Sticks to a bread basket and serve immediately.
