Low-Carb Poppy Seed Dressing Recipe is very popular, especially for any salad that includes fruit, but the commercial ones not only contain questionable oils, but also lots of sugar. Make this healthy, delicious version instead.

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup oil (I use MCT oil or sunflower oil, but light olive oil would work, too.)
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid stevia
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds

  1. Put the oil, vinegar, stevia, Worcestershire sauce, onion, and paprika in your food processor or blender and run for 15 seconds or so to pulverize the onion.
  2. Add the poppy and sesame seeds, run for just a second to mix them in (but not pulverize them!), and turn off the machine.
  3. Pour into a jar with a lid and chill for 1 hour or more.
  4. Shake before using.

Burma, who tested this with the Asparagus-Strawberry Salad link, said that it was worthy of its own entry. She also says that she might like it a tiny bit better with only 2 teaspoons of poppy seeds, but the other diners thought the poppy seed concentration was perfect. So the question is, how much do you like poppy seeds?
