CarbSmart Is Proud To Announce The Addition of Our New Columnist, Susie T. Gibbs

As your Managing Editor, I have been and am looking for fresh voices for CarbSmart.  I am excited to announce the addition of Susie T. Gibbs, aka Fluffy Chix, as a columnist.  She’ll be writing about her own life as a low carber and cancer survivor, her trials and triumphs, and also about food, all from a perspective as fresh and sassy as her native Texas.  Susie’s first column will be up this afternoon.  In the meanwhile, here’s her bio:

Susie T. Gibbs“White knuckle dieting only gets you so far – about as far as the scene of the crash.” So says Susie T. Gibbs, author of Fluffy Chix Cook, an irreverent food and recipe blog out of Texas, churning out tall tales and low carb vittles. Susie comes from a long line of fluffy chix who cooked (and talked) a blue streak, and she’s on a mission. Having lost 86 pounds, she’s a gun-toting DFSW (Delicate Flower of Southern Womanhood) with steely determination and deadly aim.

Susie knows from experience how easily the most determined dieter gets derailed by cravings. That’s why she won’t rest until she gives you every low carb bullet from her six-shooter and gunbelt — so you too will know how to shoot down any low-life, mangy, cornpone-eatin’, diet-killin’ craving that dares to raise its ugly head within 50 counties. She’s got 60 pounds left to lose and miles to go before she sleeps. Please join Susie and go from fluffy to fit one low carb bite at a time.

Hey y’all, watch this! And don’t forget, you can read more of Susie T’s low carb adventures along the azalea trails and tangled bayous of the wild and wicked Texas Gulf Coast at Fluffy Chix Cook – fluffy to fit one meal at a time.

I frequently see questions about cheat days – most commonly, “How often should I have a cheat day?” There seems to be an assumption that cheat days are a good idea, something that should be built into a low-carb diet to keep people from feeling deprived.
