Low-Carb T-Bone with Anchovy Butter and Walnuts
Low-Carb T-Bone with Anchovy Butter and Walnuts</h2>
Do you ever get bored of steak? I don’t, either, but that doesn’t mean a little enhancement now and then will be amiss. If you want to use blended steak seasoning, try Montreal seasoning. It’s a favorite at my house.
- Yield: 2 servings
Ingredients
- 12 ounces T-bone steak, ½” thick
- Salt and ground black pepper or blended steak seasoning
- 1 tablespoon bacon grease or coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- ⅛ of a batch of Anchovy-Shallot Butter LINK
Instructions
- Season your steak with salt and pepper. Put your big, heavy skillet over very high heat. You want it good and hot before you start cooking.
- When the skillet is hot, add the bacon grease and slosh it around as it melts. Then throw in the steak. Set the timer for 6 minutes.
- When the timer beeps, flip the steak and give it another 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a platter and let it settle for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, chop the walnuts, add to the hot skillet, and stir till they smell toasty. Remove from the skillet so they don’t burn.
- Top each serving of steak with a dollop of the anchovy butter and half the walnuts and serve.
