Roasted Chiles, Red Achiote + Hint of Orange.
Just add pork, water, and oil.
Optional: add pickled red onion, cilantro, and lime wedges.

Cochinita Pibil is a traditional Mexican slow-roasted pork dish from the Yucatán Peninsula.

The traditional recipe for Cochinita Pibil is pork (some people use a whole suckling pig) marinated with citrus and roasted chiles and wrapped in banana leaves. It is then slow roasted in an underground pit over hot stones for hours.

Since most of us don’t have an underground pit or the many hours it takes to make traditional Cochinita Pibil, La Tortilla Factory created their Cochinita Pibil Slow Cooker Sauce Starter so you can make this amazing dish at home in only 15 minutes!

La Tortilla Factory’s Cochinita Pibil Slow Cooker Sauce Starter is chalked full of authentic achiote (annatto), fresh garlic, and aromatic herbs and spices. This will give you authentic flavor and coloring. Add your favorite protein (normally pork shoulder (butt roast) or pork loin but what sounds best to you?) and serve with La Tortilla Factory Low-Carb tortillas, pickled onions and optionally, Eden’s black soy beans.
