My journey to gluten free living was long, and I had to get kicked in the head a few times to actually learn the lesson. I think, that maybe, for a smart woman, I learn kind of slow.

The first time someone mentioned the possibility that I might have a gluten sensitivity was in the 1980s. I was in junior high and had an intestinal ulcer that my doctor figured was at least partially due to an issue with gluten. When he told me that meant I should avoid eating things like pizza crusts and sub sandwiches, I completely ignored him.
