    Low-carb is the only diet I have ever successfully lost weight comfortably. But I would get bored eating because I couldn’t find recipes for this diet. Thank you so very, very much for the 500 Low-Carb Recipes cookbook I found at the local bookstore. I’ve been trying the recipes and they’re wonderful!! I’m eating things now I didn’t know I liked, things I had never heard of before, and loving every single one of them. My husband and son were a bit skeptical at first, but now they like (most) of the dishes I fix. Thanks, Dana, for putting out this book!

    I started the low carb diet , started in phase 1, I stayed on it for 25 days, and I could never go into ketosis. I have done this diet when I was younger and had no problem. I stopped the diet for a week and now I am staring back. Help
    What could I be doing wrong if I am not in ketosis.

      Are you diabetic? Must really delete most carbs.
      The fatter the content, the better- like now is the time to go to FIVE BROTHERS and get a big greasy hamburger patty wrapped in lettuce or N and Out burger.
      10 zero calorie breath mints can garner 3 or 4 carbs.
      If you are diabetic (or just overweight), can use CINSULIN (available at – one capsule with each meal, and/or get doctor to give script for Metformin to help get your glucose down to make easier to kick start keto.
      I got 50 urine ketone strips at WalMart for $6.
      {Note – urine not good keto test after a month, as your body regulates and dumps less ketones into urine, so will need to do blood or breath tests for accuracy later).
      I got a headache for several hours when first went into ketosis.

    My #1 favorite recipe from Dana C cookbooks, sweet peppers (can be any type of fresh pepper) stuffed with cheese and baked. This is endlessly delicious and is our favorite side for dinners, or for snacks.
